Welcome at the best corner spot in town! With its central location at Kongens Nytorv, elegant interior design and a menu sporting the best from the French and Danish cuisine it’s no wonder that Bistro Royal has become a crowd favorite. Here you’ll be able to enjoy both breakfast, lunch and dinner at prices that are more than competitive compared to other establishments in this rather sophisticated part of Copenhagen. The best tastes of winter: Check out the new menu at Bistro Royal

The weather is grey. The wind is freezing. Cold rain is falling from the sky. At Bistro Royal we find the long months of winter to be the best excuse to get close and warm up in the presence of each other. And what better way to do so than in company of splendid, seasonal servings?

At the corner of Konges Nytorv and Gothersgade we have collected all the best commodities and tastes which the season has to offer. Further we have created a series of winter friendly dishes with a colorful boost of cheer adorning on top. Taste our pan fried sole served with glazed salsify and parsley potato mash in the color of spring. Does the spring feel too far away though? Then you should eat your way to a winter getaway in our Asian inspired brown crab with lime, basil, Japanese mayonnaise and sesame tapioca.

And yes. For many people January means the month of health. So in the attempt to get all six pieces of fruit and greens a day, we suggest that you look closer to our selection of desserts. Here you’ll find powerfoods in the shape of caramelized apple mazarin cake and Poire Belle Hélène à la Royal. The fact that both desserts are being served with vanilla ice cream, honeycomb, Valrhona chocolate sauce or caramelized almonds we just find to be the perfect way to warm up the soul on the really cold days.

You find our full menu right here and a selection of the new dishes in pictures below. Choose yourself which dishes you want to combine in your one, two or three course dinner. Tempted? Book a table fast and easy online right here. We look forward to be welcoming you at Bistro Royal!

Big plans for 2018: Get excited for these new Madklubben restaurants

2017 was a fantastic year for our Copenhagen based restaurant family. We welcomed Madklubben Frederiksberg in a 19th century train station, opened the doors to Tony’s Østerbro as well as a stylish event space in the iconic ”PARK” building on Østerbrogade, relocated Asian crowd favorite Hanzō to Værnedamsvej and premiered Madklubben Nørrebro in a semi-secret courtyard below the city’s famous ”IRMA” rooftop neon signs.

Now we welcome 2018 and it will be another year packed with new restaurants as well as transformations of existing venues. Get the full lowdown here:

Madklubben Østerbro: The final chapter of our grand transformation of the historic ”PARK” building opened in the beginning of January in the shape of Madklubben Østerbro. Book a table for a dining experience and read all about the new restaurant by clicking here.

FOOD CLUB: By the end of January we’ll open the doors to a brand new concept in the Madklubben family: FOOD CLUB. Here you can expect a buffet like you’ve never tried one before, packed with free range meats, organic vegetables and sustainable ingredients. The price tag of 250 DKK on weekdays and 300 DKK on weekends will include ALL food and beverages. Keep updated on the development of FOOD CLUB here.

BAZAAR: In the spring of 2018 we’ll welcome restaurant BAZAAR in a former post office building in the heart of Copenhagen. Expect a stylish and irresistible tribute to the Moorish kitchen, which you may also know as the Berber kitchen or Arabian kitchen. In other words, a stunning food culture stretching all the way from Syria in the East along the Mediterranean to the South of Spain and further down to Morocco in North Africa. Follow how work on BAZAAR is progressing through this Facebook page.

Madklubben Aarhus: By May 2018 we’ll open our first restaurant in Jutland in Denmark’s second largest city, Aarhus. We’re moving in to the stunning “Aarhus Custom House” dating back to the 19th century. Here you can look forward to a grand Madklubben restaurant inspired by the people, food and culture of Aarhus. We’ll be able to seat 200 to 250 guests indoors and an equal amount outdoors during the summer. The concept will be classic “Madklubben” with one course from DKK 125, 2 courses from DKK 200 and 3 courses from DKK 225. Read more about the project (in Danish) through Aarhus Update here and follow the development of the project on Facebook here.

Mystery project in Vesterbro: On the first day of the year we unveiled (article in Danish) that the Madklubben group will open a new project in the space adjacent to Madklubben Vesterbro during 2018. For many years a small lamp store has occupied the address but what we plan to do with the store won’t be revealed until later this year. Stay tuned!

At Madklubben’s restaurants we look forward to relax with friends and family during the holidays just as we will need a bit of time to sleep off the hangovers from New Year’s Eve. While some need a little more rest, one of our restaurants opens again already on January the 1st .

Check the list below to get a full overview of the opening hours at all of our 14 restaurants and one cocktail bar. In the days before and after the listed dates we are open as normal unless otherwise is stated.

But hurry – just as New Year’s fireworks the ticket sale has been an explosive affair so far.

Enjoy a stately setting with a Christmas party at Bistro Royal

Enjoy a stately setting with a Christmas party at Bistro Royal

Our stately bistro at Kongens Nytorv merges the very best from Paris, London and New York with an unmistakable Scandinavian touch. If you’re looking for a Christmas venue where elegance is key, Bistro Royal is the perfect choice.

Are neither your time nor funds sufficient for a Christmas getaway? Luckily, we offer you an alternative! At Bistro Royal, we ensure a genuine bistro feeling, exactly as you’d find it on the street corners of some of the worlds most elegant capitals. – Best of all? We are just a trip to Kongens Nytorv away. Here we serve you big smiles and a beautiful setting with brown leather sofas, intimate dining booths and Danish Børge Mogensen chairs.

Both exquisite specialties and classic favorites play the leads in our Christmas menu this year. Welcome the holidays with roasted cabbage with cheese matured by the Danish North Sea coast, salted almonds and rosemary, our cured salmon with hoisin, lime, fennel and dill or enjoy a bœuf with green salad, fries and red wine sauce. Our dessert selection also celebrates the holidays sporting a Christmas chocolate mousse made from Valrhona “Guanaja” with caramelized nuts and orange meringue as well as a vanilla panna cotta with cherries and crispy rice.

Click here if you wish to see all your options and how you book a table. Less than 10 persons? No worries – if you just bring the party, we’ll bring the food! The restaurant’s Christmas à la carte comes into force from November 8th.

Got the Christmas party under control yet?

Got the Christmas party under control yet?

Okay, so we know you might be thinking ”Why on earth are they advertising for Christmas already?”, while you pause and realize that it might actually not be that long before the malls are covered in sparkly ornaments and supermarkets are packed with candy canes and peppernuts (check the link to learn more about this classic Danish Christmas cookie.)

Don’t worry there’s still some time to go, but it’s now you have to get going with booking a table if you want to secure the perfect date and time for this year’s Christmas dinner with your colleagues, friends or family.

We’ve gathered all our restaurants on one festive and ”Christmassy” landing page (we thought about dressing it up even further with snow and elves, but we thought it would be better to ease you into it.) On the site groups of 10 guests or more can explore classic and more untraditional Christmas restaurant experiences all characterized by scrumptious food and more than fair prices.

See you at madklubben.dk/en/christmas soon!

End 2017 with a bang at one of Madklubben’s restaurants in Copenhagen. Our skilled chefs have developed a range of delicious and elegant menus, which can be enjoyed at our beautiful venues across town from as little as DKK 500 per person. If you know just a little about New Year’s prices in the Danish capital, you’ll also know that it’s quite the scoop.

While some of our restaurants serve up a menu for DKK 500 with the option of adding a tailored wine menu other restaurants have opted to include the beverages in the package price, which will run at DKK 1.000 as a result. At Alabama Social and Bar Next Door they’re pulling out all the stops with spectacular wines and cocktails resulting in a seat price of DKK 1.200 and DKK 1.400 respectively.

Get the full low down on all your dining options for New Year’s Eve on December 31st 2017 and secure your tickets already today. Tickets for Madklubben Østerbro and Hanzō will be released in the coming weeks.

Where to eat? Where to drink? Where to let the kids play? Where to go partying? Those are just some of the questions that Danish blogger Cecilie Rubini aka. Sneglcille sets out to answer in her newly published guide to summertime fun in Copenhagen (in Danish).

Cecilie has been writing for 8 years and was recently elected to be part of the brand new and handpicked blogging community Confetti CPH. Her ability to seek out quality minded, irresistible and oftentimes ”off the beaten path” experiences comes through in the tempting article titled ”On vacation in Copenhagen: With and without kids.”

In her guide Cecilie has – in her own words – collected ”all her favorite places”. We’re super proud that Madklubben’s restaurant family is mentioned as a must when trying to decide on where to go out for dinner in the Danish capital:

”There are many restaurants to chose between, but my favorites are Steak Royal, Bistro Royal, Gran Torino and Tony’s. At the first two you HAVE to order the Coupe Royal for dessert.”

Wondering what a Coupe Royal is? Then check out our tribute article to the sinful dessert mixing ice cream, caramel, nuts and Oreos (in Danish). You can read more about each of Cecilie’s Madklubben recommendations by clicking on the various restaurant names in the quote above.

Have a great summer! We hope to see you at one of our restaurants soon…
