On May 26th 2017 Madklubben re-opened the doors to the beautiful old train station building in the city district of Frederiksberg, turning the historic space into a culinary point of departure where great food is served at Madklubben’s more than fair prices. Even though the decor is lofty, the concept is very much down to earth.

A steak topped with cheese, ruby red tuna with grill marks, chilled pea soup with sparkling wine and juicy strawberries covered in vanilla cream. ”Pleasure” is probably the word that best describes the menu at Madklubben’s most recent family member – Madklubben Frederiksberg – which opened in the end of May.

Ever since opening day and night after night the restaurant has been packed with guests. In other words it’s a great idea to reserve your table in advance if you’re thinking about paying us a visit to have a taste of our great food served at more than fair prices.

At Madklubben Frederiksberg you compose your own three course dinner from as little as DKK 200. You can also expand on your culinary ambitions with small extra purchases along the way. Not hungry enough to order three courses? Opt for one dish from DKK 100 or two dishes from DKK 150 in stead.

The scrumptious taste of steak and béarnaise in a brioche bun. Creamy risotto with melted cheese and summer veggies. There’s no doubt that we expected our dishes to fare well with the average music festival goer when Madklubben debuted at Roskilde Festival in 2016. But nothing could prepare us for the explosion of foodie love and hungry guests that actually hit us. 5.000 meals were prepared, but when the music died out we had served no less than 12.500 guests from our little stand.

It was wild, it was overwhelming and we can’t wait to do it all again. Because Madklubben will return to Scandinavia’s largest festival and you’ll once again find us in the covered Food Court from Wednesday June 28th until the early hours of Sunday July 2nd.

Since last year our restaurants have received countless requests for us to put the already legendary Steak ’n’ Béarnaise Sandwich on the menu. But it remains a greasy and irresistible unicorn only to be spotted at very special occasions. You can read more about the specific content of our festival dishes below, and though they are very different they also share an obligation to Roskilde Festival’s goal of cooking with at least 90% organic ingredients.

Steak ’n’ Béarnaise Sandwich:

At several of our restaurants the classic steak béarnaise is king. So naturally there was no doubt that the combination of tender beef and creamy béarnaise had to be turned into a festival favorite. Get ready for a toasted brioche bun filled with organic Danish beef, warm béarnaise, romaine lettuce, tomatoes and pickles onions. The perfect dish for your hangovers priced at only DKK 65.

Pearl Barley Risotto:

Whether you live a full on vegetarian lifestyle or simply want to cut back on your meat consumption in order to help the environment our summer risotto will keep you asking for more. A creamy mixture of pearl barley and organic cheese accompanied by broccoli, asparagus, carrots and radishes. Just have the munchies? Then go for half a portion for DKK 35. Otherwise go all in with a full portion for DKK 55.

Monday June 5th. Second day of Pentecost. Day of the Danish Constitution. Father’s Day. We have many names for things we like and this year we will ad yet another one to the list: “Double Trouble Birthday Bash”.

We’ve invited all the employees from Madklubben’s big restaurant family to a grand party celebrating the 10 year anniversary of the very first Madklubben restaurant as well as the 40th birthday of our founder and CEO, Anders Aagaard. We feel like we all deserve to eat well, drink well and dance ugly for one night.

But don’t despair if you’ve been planning on dining out on Monday June 5th. We’ve called in some extra help in order to keep Madklubben Vesterbro open for service. Check out their scrumptious menu here and book your table online with just a few clicks.

Now it’s official: On Friday the 26th of May we open the doors to Madklubben Frederiksberg. We look forward to serving up great food at more than fair prices in a beautiful and historic building, which used to be functioning train station.

For the first period of time we will only be open for dinner, while we get to know our new kitchen and surroundings. Though it won’t be long until we’re also ready to welcome guests for breakfast and lunch.

The very first à la carte menu is online now, and you can look forward to crowd favorites such as steak tartare, veal fricassee, steak béarnaise, seared tuna and chocolate mousse.

Springtime has officially arrived and just like all the flowers and trees in the Danish capital, future plans for Madklubben are blooming. A wide array of media outlets from Politiken to Berlingske and beyond have reported on our new tasty projects set to open in 2017 but to make things easier we’ve collected all the essential information for you right here:

Madklubben Frederiksberg: This scrumptious yet elegant neighborhood spot will open in an old train station in the smack middle of Frederiksberg by the end of May.

Tony’s Østerbro: We’ve acquired one of Copenhagen’s most iconic buildings located in Østerbro. Dating back to 1926 the impressive structure used to house a wide array of night clubs and restaurants and will be resurrected with several new Madklubben concepts. The first to open is Tony’s Østerbro in the summer of 2017 – a duplicate of our Italian crowd favorite close to Nyhavn.

More room for events: Did you wonder what that ”more than five restaurants” in the title meant? Well, it isn’t exactly a restaurant of its own but we’re creating a beautiful space for large groups and parties in the same building in Østerbro. Set to open during the summer this will become the perfect place for your birthday party, wedding, company celebration etc.

Bazaar: Announced in the very end of 2016 our Arabian inspired restaurant is currently underway in a former post office in Dronningens Tværgade in the heart of Copenhagen. We expect the opening to take place late summer or in the beginning of the fall 2017.

”Con Amore”: This is not going to be the actual name of the restaurant but it’s our working title: ”With Love”. In Ny Adelgade right by Kongens Nytorv we are working on a smaller and more exclusive restaurant than what you might expect from a Madklubben project. We look forward to telling you more soon.

Værnedamsvej: On this charming little street connecting the neighborhoods of Vesterbro and Frederiksberg we are also working on creating a great little restaurant in 2017.

Hanzō: Our popular pan-Asian eatery that closed in Nørrebro the beginning of the year is still on the hunt for a new home. We have a few different options on our hands and we can’t wait to bring back Hanzō to our restaurant family in 2017.
