Welcome to Madklubben Frederiksberg

On May 26th 2017 Madklubben re-opened the doors to the beautiful old train station building in the city district of Frederiksberg, turning the historic space into a culinary point of departure where great food is served at Madklubben’s more than fair prices. Even though the decor is lofty, the concept is very much down to earth.

Madklubben Frederiksberg serves both breakfast, lunch and dinner. Explore the selection from our scrumptious menus below.

Madklubben Frederiksberg merges breakfast and lunch with a new and tempting all day menu

Some mornings you feel like having chia pudding and other mornings you feel like having a burger. Some lunches you feel like having a salad with broiled goat cheese and other lunches you feel like having soft boiled eggs and a croissant. At Madklubben Frederiksberg we’ve eliminated the boundaries and liberated your food cravings with a brand new all day menu selection, which will be in effect all days of the week from 9 am through 4 pm.

In effect, you can now enjoy breakfast dishes in the afternoon and lunch dishes from the very beginning of the day. The perfect solution whether you like to sleep in or simply eat what you want whenever you want.

Big plans for 2018: Get excited for these new Madklubben restaurants

2017 was a fantastic year for our Copenhagen based restaurant family. We welcomed Madklubben Frederiksberg in a 19th century train station, opened the doors to Tony’s Østerbro as well as a stylish event space in the iconic ”PARK” building on Østerbrogade, relocated Asian crowd favorite Hanzō to Værnedamsvej and premiered Madklubben Nørrebro in a semi-secret courtyard below the city’s famous ”IRMA” rooftop neon signs.

Now we welcome 2018 and it will be another year packed with new restaurants as well as transformations of existing venues. Get the full lowdown here:

Madklubben Østerbro: The final chapter of our grand transformation of the historic ”PARK” building opened in the beginning of January in the shape of Madklubben Østerbro. Book a table for a dining experience and read all about the new restaurant by clicking here.

FOOD CLUB: By the end of January we’ll open the doors to a brand new concept in the Madklubben family: FOOD CLUB. Here you can expect a buffet like you’ve never tried one before, packed with free range meats, organic vegetables and sustainable ingredients. The price tag of 250 DKK on weekdays and 300 DKK on weekends will include ALL food and beverages. Keep updated on the development of FOOD CLUB here.

BAZAAR: In the spring of 2018 we’ll welcome restaurant BAZAAR in a former post office building in the heart of Copenhagen. Expect a stylish and irresistible tribute to the Moorish kitchen, which you may also know as the Berber kitchen or Arabian kitchen. In other words, a stunning food culture stretching all the way from Syria in the East along the Mediterranean to the South of Spain and further down to Morocco in North Africa. Follow how work on BAZAAR is progressing through this Facebook page.

Madklubben Aarhus: By May 2018 we’ll open our first restaurant in Jutland in Denmark’s second largest city, Aarhus. We’re moving in to the stunning “Aarhus Custom House” dating back to the 19th century. Here you can look forward to a grand Madklubben restaurant inspired by the people, food and culture of Aarhus. We’ll be able to seat 200 to 250 guests indoors and an equal amount outdoors during the summer. The concept will be classic “Madklubben” with one course from DKK 125, 2 courses from DKK 200 and 3 courses from DKK 225. Read more about the project (in Danish) through Aarhus Update here and follow the development of the project on Facebook here.

Mystery project in Vesterbro: On the first day of the year we unveiled (article in Danish) that the Madklubben group will open a new project in the space adjacent to Madklubben Vesterbro during 2018. For many years a small lamp store has occupied the address but what we plan to do with the store won’t be revealed until later this year. Stay tuned!

Let Madklubben Frederiksberg send you towards 2018 stuffed with great food and wine

The Madklubben family’s elegant restaurant in the Copenhagen district of Frederiksberg is located in a former train station from the 19th century. Relax in the beautiful dining room where we celebrate the very last night of 2017 with a 4 course menu accompanied by Champagne, mineral water, coffee/tea and a digestif.

It isn’t every day we get to celebrate New Year’s Eve why we at Madklubben Frederiksberg are all about the festivities. In our spacious, stream lined restaurant we are looking forward to welcome you and your loved ones and host a New Year’s Eve dinner as your heart desires.

3 courses definitely aren’t enough why we serve you a selection of delicate snacks to kick start your appetite before we serve up our delicious dinner and (not to forget) our appurtenant wine menu. Let us guide you through a food journey starting with seared langoustine, foamy langoustine bisque, pernod, grilled onion and dill. Next up is 300 g entrecôte with pickled shiitake, pan fried beech hat mushrooms, béarnaise, bordelaise and truffle fries before finishing off with chocolate tart, salted caramel, cocoa sorbet, toasted meringue and chocolate crumble. But the party isn’t over until you’ve tasted our petit fours served with coffee or tea and of course a glass of dessert wine, bailey or digestif of choice.

Take part in our New Year celebrations for the great price of DKK 1000 by clicking here. Are you bringing the kids? No worries. We offer a “children edition” of our New Year’s Eve menu for the price of DKK 250 right here. On our webpage, you’ll also find practical information and luxurious additional options such as seared foie gras on your steak.

At 11.30 pm we thank you for tonight and wish each other a happy New Year so our lovely staff can get home and enjoy the celebrations with friends and family. We are looking forward to be sending you happy and full towards the new year!

Care to join a classic Christmas dinner at Madklubben Frederiksberg?

Christmas like in the olden days: Madklubben Frederiksberg is located in an elegant former train station built in the 19th century. Treat yourself and your guests to a wide array of classic and contemporary favorites.

What is the best thing about Christmas? – Hard to choose? Then it’s a good thing, that we here at Madklubben Frederiksberg cherish all the proud traditions of Christmas! Think dreamy. Think delicious. Think delightful. Madklubben Frederiksberg is a noble choice for this year’s Christmas party with classic Danish “Wegner” chairs, ceiling stucco and carpets that match the color of your Christmas three at home.

In our Christmas menu you’ll likewise find traditional Christmas elements with the taste of confit, pâté and pickles. What characterizes Danish Christmas better than smoked salmon with cabbage salad, pear, lemon and mustard vinaigrette? Braised pork shank with creamy celery, pickled lingonberries, roasted walnuts and fries? Or what about the classic, Danish Christmas rice pudding dessert “ris à la mande” with Polynesian vanilla, roasted almonds and amerena cherry sauce?

Click here if you wish to see all your options and how you book a table. Less than 10 persons? No worries – if you just bring the party, we’ll bring the food! The restaurant’s Christmas à la carte comes into force from November 7th.

Got the Christmas party under control yet?

Got the Christmas party under control yet?

Okay, so we know you might be thinking ”Why on earth are they advertising for Christmas already?”, while you pause and realize that it might actually not be that long before the malls are covered in sparkly ornaments and supermarkets are packed with candy canes and peppernuts (check the link to learn more about this classic Danish Christmas cookie.)

Don’t worry there’s still some time to go, but it’s now you have to get going with booking a table if you want to secure the perfect date and time for this year’s Christmas dinner with your colleagues, friends or family.

We’ve gathered all our restaurants on one festive and ”Christmassy” landing page (we thought about dressing it up even further with snow and elves, but we thought it would be better to ease you into it.) On the site groups of 10 guests or more can explore classic and more untraditional Christmas restaurant experiences all characterized by scrumptious food and more than fair prices.

See you at madklubben.dk/en/christmas soon!

Fireworks for foodies: The tickets for New Year’s Eve have been released

Fireworks for foodies: The tickets for New Year’s Eve have been released

End 2017 with a bang at one of Madklubben’s restaurants in Copenhagen. Our skilled chefs have developed a range of delicious and elegant menus, which can be enjoyed at our beautiful venues across town from as little as DKK 500 per person. If you know just a little about New Year’s prices in the Danish capital, you’ll also know that it’s quite the scoop.

While some of our restaurants serve up a menu for DKK 500 with the option of adding a tailored wine menu other restaurants have opted to include the beverages in the package price, which will run at DKK 1.000 as a result. At Alabama Social and Bar Next Door they’re pulling out all the stops with spectacular wines and cocktails resulting in a seat price of DKK 1.200 and DKK 1.400 respectively.

Get the full low down on all your dining options for New Year’s Eve on December 31st 2017 and secure your tickets already today. Tickets for Madklubben Østerbro and Hanzō will be released in the coming weeks.

A steak topped with cheese, ruby red tuna with grill marks, chilled pea soup with sparkling wine and juicy strawberries covered in vanilla cream. ”Pleasure” is probably the word that best describes the menu at Madklubben’s most recent family member – Madklubben Frederiksberg – which opened in the end of May.

Ever since opening day and night after night the restaurant has been packed with guests. In other words it’s a great idea to reserve your table in advance if you’re thinking about paying us a visit to have a taste of our great food served at more than fair prices.

At Madklubben Frederiksberg you compose your own three course dinner from as little as DKK 200. You can also expand on your culinary ambitions with small extra purchases along the way. Not hungry enough to order three courses? Opt for one dish from DKK 100 or two dishes from DKK 150 in stead.

Madklubben is all set to return to Roskilde Festival

Madklubben is all set to return to Roskilde Festival

The scrumptious taste of steak and béarnaise in a brioche bun. Creamy risotto with melted cheese and summer veggies. There’s no doubt that we expected our dishes to fare well with the average music festival goer when Madklubben debuted at Roskilde Festival in 2016. But nothing could prepare us for the explosion of foodie love and hungry guests that actually hit us. 5.000 meals were prepared, but when the music died out we had served no less than 12.500 guests from our little stand.

It was wild, it was overwhelming and we can’t wait to do it all again. Because Madklubben will return to Scandinavia’s largest festival and you’ll once again find us in the covered Food Court from Wednesday June 28th until the early hours of Sunday July 2nd.

Since last year our restaurants have received countless requests for us to put the already legendary Steak ’n’ Béarnaise Sandwich on the menu. But it remains a greasy and irresistible unicorn only to be spotted at very special occasions. You can read more about the specific content of our festival dishes below, and though they are very different they also share an obligation to Roskilde Festival’s goal of cooking with at least 90% organic ingredients.

Steak ’n’ Béarnaise Sandwich:

At several of our restaurants the classic steak béarnaise is king. So naturally there was no doubt that the combination of tender beef and creamy béarnaise had to be turned into a festival favorite. Get ready for a toasted brioche bun filled with organic Danish beef, warm béarnaise, romaine lettuce, tomatoes and pickles onions. The perfect dish for your hangovers priced at only DKK 65.

Pearl Barley Risotto:

Whether you live a full on vegetarian lifestyle or simply want to cut back on your meat consumption in order to help the environment our summer risotto will keep you asking for more. A creamy mixture of pearl barley and organic cheese accompanied by broccoli, asparagus, carrots and radishes. Just have the munchies? Then go for half a portion for DKK 35. Otherwise go all in with a full portion for DKK 55.

We look forward to spoiling you with great food served at fair prices at Roskilde Festival 2017!
