Tony’s Østerbro

At Tony’s Østerbro the ceiling might be high but the concept and the prices are very much down to earth. Explore our selection of Italian/American creations and compose your very own three course menu from as little as DKK 225. Tony’s Østerbro is located in a beautiful and historical building right next to Østerbro Stadium. We’ve transformed the vast space into a beautiful restaurant fit for the entire family sporting butcher tiles on the walls, white marble tables and plenty of green details. Exactly how we picture Tony would love it – our fictive mobster mascot who lives in New York and acts like a tough guy but secretly just wants to have his mamma cook him dinner.

2017 was a fantastic year for our Copenhagen based restaurant family. We welcomed Madklubben Frederiksberg in a 19th century train station, opened the doors to Tony’s Østerbro as well as a stylish event space in the iconic ”PARK” building on Østerbrogade, relocated Asian crowd favorite Hanzō to Værnedamsvej and premiered Madklubben Nørrebro in a semi-secret courtyard below the city’s famous ”IRMA” rooftop neon signs.

Now we welcome 2018 and it will be another year packed with new restaurants as well as transformations of existing venues. Get the full lowdown here:

Madklubben Østerbro: The final chapter of our grand transformation of the historic ”PARK” building opened in the beginning of January in the shape of Madklubben Østerbro. Book a table for a dining experience and read all about the new restaurant by clicking here.

FOOD CLUB: By the end of January we’ll open the doors to a brand new concept in the Madklubben family: FOOD CLUB. Here you can expect a buffet like you’ve never tried one before, packed with free range meats, organic vegetables and sustainable ingredients. The price tag of 250 DKK on weekdays and 300 DKK on weekends will include ALL food and beverages. Keep updated on the development of FOOD CLUB here.

BAZAAR: In the spring of 2018 we’ll welcome restaurant Bazaar in a former post office building in the heart of Copenhagen. Expect a stylish and irresistible tribute to the Moorish kitchen, which you may also know as the Berber kitchen or Arabian kitchen. In other words, a stunning food culture stretching all the way from Syria in the East along the Mediterranean to the South of Spain and further down to Morocco in North Africa. Follow how work on BAZAAR is progressing through this Facebook page and at restaurantbazaar.dk/en.

Madklubben Aarhus: By May 2018 we’ll open our first restaurant in Jutland in Denmark’s second largest city, Aarhus. We’re moving in to the stunning “Aarhus Custom House” dating back to the 19th century. Here you can look forward to a grand Madklubben restaurant inspired by the people, food and culture of Aarhus. We’ll be able to seat 200 to 250 guests indoors and an equal amount outdoors during the summer. The concept will be classic “Madklubben” with one course from DKK 125, 2 courses from DKK 200 and 3 courses from DKK 225. Read more about the project (in Danish) through Aarhus Update here and follow the development of the project on Facebook here. You are also very welcome to check out Madklubben Aarhus’ webside right here.

Mystery project in Vesterbro: On the first day of the year we unveiled (article in Danish) that the Madklubben group will open a new project in the space adjacent to Madklubben Vesterbro during 2018. For many years a small lamp store has occupied the address but what we plan to do with the store won’t be revealed until later this year. Stay tuned!

See our opening times during Christmas and New Year’s

Christmas is right around the corner and on the other side of the street waits 2018. At Madklubben’s restaurants we look forward to relax with friends and family during the holidays just as we will need a bit of time to sleep off the hangovers from New Year’s Eve. While some need a little more rest, one of our restaurants opens again already on January the 1st .

Check the list below to get a full overview of the opening hours at all of our 14 restaurants and one cocktail bar. In the days before and after the listed dates we are open as normal unless otherwise is stated.

Oh sweet month of Christmas, where are you going? Time flies, soon it’s December 24th, and before we know it, we once again face the welcoming of a new and exciting year.

But if you still haven’ planned how to round off 2017 and greet 2018,  then we suggest that you stop by our webshop, where you can still find tickets for a refined New Year’s Eve dinner at one of Madklubben’s restaurants. But hurry – just as New Year’s fireworks the ticket sale has been an explosive affair so far.

To get the full overview of our restaurants and remaining tickets, take a look at Madklubben’s webshop right here.

Eat your way towards 2018 with a true food feast at Tony’s Østerbro

Eat your way towards 2018 with a true food feast at Tony’s Østerbro

What would an Italian mobster foodie from New York serve on the last night of the year? The New Year’s feast at Tony’s Østerbro answers that question: Carpaccio, truffle risotto, beef tenderloin and chocolate can be found on the menu.

At Tony’s Østerbro we know how important it is to lay a solid ground for yourselves before facing New Year’s Eve and same counts for your stomachs. 2018’s duties, dreams and dates seems way more foreseeable when first the hunger is taken care of. Lean back and enjoy your New Year’s Eve dinner in our welcoming restaurant decorated with classic parquet floors, homey details and smart KEVI office chairs. Enjoy the last night of the year with our excellent risotto made with butter, parmesan cheese, mushrooms and winter truffles and our authentic Mississippi Mud Pie – a creamy chocolate cake served with pistachio ice cream and hazelnut – before you later will burn off all the calories on the dance floor.

Read more about our event and take part in our New Year celebrations for the fantastic price of DKK 500 by clicking here. Spice up your evening by purchasing our wine menu here. Are you bringing the kids? No worries. We offer a “children edition” of our New Year’s Eve menu for half the price right here.

At 11.30 pm we thank you for tonight and wish each other a happy New Year so our lovely staff can get home and enjoy the celebrations with friends and family. We are looking forward to be sending you happy and full towards the new year!

Host a homely Christmas party at Tony’s Østerbro

Host a homely Christmas party at Tony’s Østerbro

What would an American mobster with Italian roots eat for Christmas? Find the answer at Tony’s Østerbro located in a stunning space in Copenhagen’s Østerbro neighborhood complete with flickering candles, a dining balcony and 22 ft. ceilings.

In the heart of Copenhagen’s Østerbro district you’ll find our cosmopolitan, Italian restaurant complete with parquet floors, spiral staircases and an open fireplace. If the elegant marble tables and rustic leather sofas start to spin, don’t blame your buzz but the  iconic Danish wooden “KEVI” office chair you’re sitting on.

Think of it as “international Christmas”, when we serve you our take on the Italian favorite dishes and spice them up with some authentic, Danish Christmas spirit. – And Italian Christmas is certainly not a boring affair! We add a little extra Christmas in our special rice pudding: “Ris á la mande” made from black rice and caramelized almonds and in our Italian pork roast with crispy crackling – porchetta – served Danish style with mashed potatoes and Christmas sauce.  In our menu, you’ll find a wide selection of both wine, beer and drinks, which will definitely kick off your Christmas celebrations.

Click here if you wish to see all your options and how you book a table. Less than 10 persons? No worries – if you just bring the party, we’ll bring the food! The restaurant’s Christmas à la carte comes into force from November 7th.

Got the Christmas party under control yet?

Got the Christmas party under control yet?

Okay, so we know you might be thinking ”Why on earth are they advertising for Christmas already?”, while you pause and realize that it might actually not be that long before the malls are covered in sparkly ornaments and supermarkets are packed with candy canes and peppernuts (check the link to learn more about this classic Danish Christmas cookie.)

Don’t worry there’s still some time to go, but it’s now you have to get going with booking a table if you want to secure the perfect date and time for this year’s Christmas dinner with your colleagues, friends or family.

We’ve gathered all our restaurants on one festive and ”Christmassy” landing page (we thought about dressing it up even further with snow and elves, but we thought it would be better to ease you into it.) On the site groups of 10 guests or more can explore classic and more untraditional Christmas restaurant experiences all characterized by scrumptious food and more than fair prices.

See you at madklubben.dk/en/christmas soon!

Fireworks for foodies: The tickets for New Year’s Eve have been released

Fireworks for foodies: The tickets for New Year’s Eve have been released

End 2017 with a bang at one of Madklubben’s restaurants in Copenhagen. Our skilled chefs have developed a range of delicious and elegant menus, which can be enjoyed at our beautiful venues across town from as little as DKK 500 per person. If you know just a little about New Year’s prices in the Danish capital, you’ll also know that it’s quite the scoop.

While some of our restaurants serve up a menu for DKK 500 with the option of adding a tailored wine menu other restaurants have opted to include the beverages in the package price, which will run at DKK 1.000 as a result. At Alabama Social and Bar Next Door they’re pulling out all the stops with spectacular wines and cocktails resulting in a seat price of DKK 1.200 and DKK 1.400 respectively.

Get the full low down on all your dining options for New Year’s Eve on December 31st 2017 and secure your tickets already today. Tickets for Madklubben Østerbro and Hanzō will be released in the coming weeks.

On August 1st 2017 we opened the doors to Tony’s Østerbro – a big little brother to our popular Tony’s restaurant in the city center. Tony’s Østerbro is located in a beautiful building from the 1920’s right next door to the athletics stadium in the stylish Copenhagen neighborhood of Østerbro.

See how the historic and worn down venue has been brought back to life as a restaurant with 150 seats inspired by an old school hotel lobby, an Italian trattoria and an American gangster hideout.
