Do you love pizza? Frankies is the answer of Madklubben's ultimative pink pizza dream
With a universe of the bright, pink color, crust dip and pizzas like Notorious P.I.G, Steak & Bearnaise and Honolulu, Frankies has won the Danish hearts in record time. In Copenhagen, Aarhus and in Esbjerg.
With Frankies, the goal is to create a brand new take on the pizza experience. The Italian music is replaced with the hip hop, and also hundreds of hours is spend on developing every single pizza that has found its way to the menu.
Frankies Pizza wants to make Denmark more pink
It is not more than over a year ago since the first Madklubben’s Frankies Pizza opened in Copenhagen. Since then, it has gone quickly. And in a little more than a half year, Frankies has grown fast, so that there now is 10 family members.
“I am really blown away by the reception, Frankies have received. I meet people in the street walking around in our merchandise, and I every single day meet so many lovely guests at our restaurants, Instagram and Facebook that are crazy about our pizzas. It is amazing!,” says Lars Bertelsen, who has an ambition that Frankies becomes the Danes preferred pizza experience.
“The last 50 years has shown that the Danes love pizza. The last year and a half has shown that they are quite crazy about Frankies, so we are well on our way making Denmark more pink,” Lars Bertelsen says.
The Pizza of the Month: 25 kr. for every sold pizza goes to charity
One time of the month, he invites a famous personality into the pizza-kitchen of Frankies so that this person can create a pizza-favorite to be sold at Frankies’ restaurants for one month. This is being filmed and afterwards shared at Frankies’s Facebook and Instagram. For every pizza being sold, 25 kr. goes to a charity project that the man or woman behind the pizza of the month gets to choose.
“Our sales have so far collected over 300.000 Danish crowns to everything from “Kræftens Bekæmpelse” to “Danske Hospitalsklovne”, which is amazing. Right now many is writing us in the hope of becoming the next guest of the month,” Lars Bertelsen says, who, among others, have had visits such as Xander, Sofie Linde, Medina and Lars Hjortshøj.
