ASSISTANT RESTAURANT MANAGER

Are you passionate about delivering excellent service and can you be a role model for your team?

Hanzō Aarhus is ideally located on M. P. Bruuns Gade, where former bank premises have been transformed into one of Aarhus's most beautiful restaurants. Here, we serve unpretentious Asian favorites from across the continent. Everything is set in an atmospheric environment where food, drink, light, sound, scents, and colors blend into a sensory experience. At Hanzō, the ceilings are high, both literally and figuratively.

We aim to create the most exciting restaurant in town, where the high energy thrives every day of the week, and where the restaurant team works together to ensure every guest has a fantastic experience.

About the job

  • Your daily routine will take place in the restaurant, with most of your time spent with your team and guests on the floor.

  • You, alongside the restaurant manager, will have the overall responsibility for the daily operations of the restaurant, with your greatest asset being your staff.

  • As the restaurant manager's right hand, you will work closely with them to ensure everything runs smoothly.

  • Your role includes, but is not limited to, building a team of supervisors and staff, with your primary task being to keep them highly motivated, as you know that without your team, nothing works.

  • Additionally, you will be responsible for ensuring that staffing levels in the restaurant are always optimal during your shifts, including adhering to your budgeted labor percentage and general financial management.

  • Other possible responsibilities may include managing the beverage inventory, ordering supplies, preparing menu, wine, and cocktail lists, optimizing the restaurant, ensuring service quality, cleanliness, and more.

We are looking for

  • An engaged leader who is passionate about service and management and loves working with guests. You should find it exciting when the restaurant is full on a Friday night, but also be just as committed on a Tuesday evening when it’s quieter.

  • You love developing both leadership talent and staff, and you should enjoy being part of a young, dynamic team.

  • You have experience in leadership within the industry.

  • You are skilled at planning service and delegating tasks in a motivating and constructive manner.

  • You work with a positive attitude, always seeing challenges rather than problems, and you enjoy a fast-paced environment while also appreciating thorough planning for the restaurant’s operations and optimization.

  • You are financially responsible and lead by example to ensure profitable operation of the restaurant.

  • You are accustomed to working with KPIs and strive to make each day better than the last.

  • You thrive in evening and weekend work.

We offer

As part of the Madklubben family with over 40 restaurants, you'll join a social community with a strong support system to help you become more skilled and successful. Here, you will share in the leadership responsibilities over staff.

Additionally, we offer the following:

  • Excellent education and development opportunities, including hospitality and sommelier courses.
  • Monthly social events and staff parties.
  • Employee discounts for visiting our other restaurants.
  • Flexible shifts, as the restaurant also offers lunch service.
