ASSISTANT RESTAURANT MANAGER

About the job

  • Your daily work will take place in the restaurant, where you'll spend most of your time working with your team and engaging with guests on the floor. Alongside the restaurant manager, you'll have overall responsibility for the daily operations of the restaurant, with your primary asset being your employees.

     

  • You will serve as the restaurant manager’s right hand, working closely with them to ensure everything runs smoothly and efficiently. Your role includes, but is not limited to, building and maintaining a motivated team of supervisors and staff. You understand that without your team, nothing works.

     

  • Additionally, you'll be responsible for ensuring optimal staffing levels during your shifts, including managing the budgeted labor percentage and overseeing general financial management. Secondary responsibilities may include managing the beverage inventory, placing orders, developing menus, wine lists, and cocktail menus, optimizing restaurant operations, and maintaining service and cleanliness standards.

  • You are passionate about service and leadership and thrive on interacting with guests. You find it exciting to manage a full restaurant on a busy Friday night, but you are equally committed when the pace slows down on a Tuesday evening.

     

  • You love developing both leadership talent and staff, and enjoy being part of a young, dynamic team. You have experience in the industry and are adept at planning and delegating service in a motivating and constructive manner.

     

  • You approach challenges with a positive attitude, viewing them as opportunities rather than problems. You thrive in a fast-paced environment but also enjoy delving into detailed planning and optimization of restaurant operations.

     

  • You are financially responsible and take the lead in ensuring the restaurant operates profitably.

  • Experienced with KPIs, you are driven by the goal of making each day better than the last.

     

  • You are comfortable working evenings and weekends.
